This is one of the newer models that offers 78 speed and is fully automatic. Thorens produced its first electric turntable in 1928 and continues producing turntables now. The Thorens TD-124 is often regarded as a pinnacle in the world of vintage turntables. The plinth, is covered in birdseye maple veneer, and is also very nice. Produced in the late 1960s and early 1970s, this belt-driven model features a heavy plinth and an effective suspension system, which minimizes external vibrations. I bought this beautiful belt drive turntable back in college 1982-83. Electrical components are checked, Moving parts oiled and wearing parts replaced.
