Difference between sansui 5000a and 5000x. Have a 2000x and 7000. These old Sansui models are solidly built. diff in A vs X Probably in cosmetics, tuning knob location etc. Very hot. I have been concentrating on my hand built Amplifiers/Preamp and have no time for the receivers. The 5000x is not nearly as common (there are none for sale) and has a higher price of over $500. nice styling, frt pnl, dial, lighting. If you are choosing between the 2000X and 5000X, the 2000X is the better value, and as many have said, the sound is going to be the same. If you don't go past 10 o'clock on the volume (I don't either), you really don't need much power.
